Skittles, Maybe?

After I got home from work last night, and after I made dinner and cleaned up the dishes and did a couple of other little things, I grabbed a few of each of the colored triangles and added the side triangles to them. Then I threw them up on the design wall with the others.  I also started to sort some blue scraps, but didn't get very far.

If I kept going with just these colors, I think I'd have to name this quilt "Skittles."

But I'm going to keep going.

I think.

Maybe.

  1. I like the extra greens. They add so much with the others, a fun set of blocks.

  2. another name might be "Mike and Ike". I like skittles, too. Reminds me of the candy and the game (where a spinning top knocks down pins set out in a wooden box. The pins fall every which way.)

  4. Fun colors and a fun name. Just like candies in a dish - a joyful jumble of color.

  6. This is marvelous! Please understand that I mean this in a good way, but I look at this and think "Chaos Theory".

  8. I like these blocks and will anticipate seeing the finished quilt. I will never think of Skittles in the same way as I did prior to watching a Stephen Colbert show where he referred to these as part of one of the things a relative of one of the candidates said. Your quilt will be wonderful whatever the name.

  9. Well, dang, now I want candy! I'm really liking these scrappy triangles so far. If you add blue, it will be quite a different direction, and that will work, too. I'm working on a primarily green, yellow and orange quilt right now and decided to add a bright blue stop border.

    Happy Thanksgiving, Lynne!
