The purple lilac is the state flower of New Hampshire, and they are in bloom now. These came from my back yard and are currently filling my house with their wonderful fragrance.
Mine are just starting to bloom. They are right outside the window to my sewing room so I can usually smell them when they are in bloom. One of my favorite flowers.
We had purple and white lilacs growing in our yard when I was a little girl . . . I thought they had the most wonderful fragrance of all the flowers my mom grew (her peace roses were in second place).
I love lilacs. They are a happy memory from growing up in Ohio. Too warm in the winter here in AZ except in the high country for lilacs to thrive. Recently took a trip out of the Valley of the Sun up to Jerome, AZ and got an extra special treat - a lilac bush in bloom. Total Excitement!! Have a great day. Always, Queenie
The smell of lilacs is like no other...it was my mothers favorite flower. What a beautiful picture Lynne. I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day.
