Interesting...I like the 2nd one better! And I do like that background fabric, but if it were me, I'd probably having it going every which way! I'm spatially challenged, I think! :)
Interesting how a background can change the colour concept completely. They look so different, even though you've used the same fabrics for the letters.
It's all about contrast and the second example doesn't have enough, so the letters get lost. In real life, the difference between the two is more pronounced, and the second set of letters practically disappear. I've decided to go with the background fabric in the second set so it's another do-over.
The letters on the first one stand out better than the letters on the second one, though both are nice.
