Here in New England (in the Northeast USA) many houses have porches. The house I grew up in had a screened in porch along the front side of the house. It was a great place to watch the world go by, to watch the lightning during a thunderstorm, and just so sit on the swing and do nothing.
I decided the house in my Summer panel needed a side porch. The small white rectangles in the photo above are 1/4" x 1".

My grandfather's house in Michigan had a marvelous old-fashioned screened-in front porch with a creaky swinging screen door. My sister and I spent hours out there - playing jacks, imagining all sorts of adventures, watching his neighborhood go by as we rocked the rockers off his chairs, all while sharing sweet-pea and rose perfumed time together.
ReplyDeleteSO glad you are adding a porch to your summer house!
You need a table with a bottle of lemonade and, of course, a swing.
ReplyDeletePorches are a must! I remember Grandma and Grandpa's and it was really big and screened in and we had a table out there to eat at and a bed to sleep on and it was close to the lake so we could hear the waves. Oh, sweet memories.
ReplyDeleteThe M word? Oh no. I hope it's for the good.
