A spiral bound book will stay open and lie flat.
Julie told me I could have a book spiral bound at Staples or Kinko's.

I had bought an extra copy of
Tonya's book to use in a classroom setting, and thought having it lie flat would be useful.

So I brought it to Staples last night and they did it while I waited.
The cost? $2.99.
The best ideas can often be very inexpensive. This is a keeper!
wow, I might have to get all my books done!! thanks for sharing,Amy
ReplyDeleteWhat a helpfun idea! I may do that to some of my books too!!
ReplyDeletewell doesn't this just make so much sense. I might just have to jump on this band wagon.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love this idea!!
ReplyDeleteI really like having a book lie flat, especially quilt books and cookbooks. The problem is I also want to be able to read the spine title when the book is standing on my bookshelf. Which is why I really like Krause publications; they're spiral bound within a hard casing. They lie flat and you can read the spine. Perfect. Wish all the quiltbook publishers would do the same.
ReplyDeleteooh, clever. will have to do the same.
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing with my really thick textbooks in college. One of my professors suggested it to me.
ReplyDeleteI finally got my extra copy coil-bound at Office Depot today (they offer a choice of coil colors - red, black, navy, white ... I chose RED).
ReplyDelete$2.79 with tax ... WOW!
Happy to share the idea that someone else had shared with me!
Thanks for sharing! You and Millie have a great New Years.
ReplyDeleteI am so going to do that! I think I'll do that with my teacher books at school too. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Love this idea. I've been doing it with any book that I might want to make more than one quilt from. So nice to have it lay flat!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea! Thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea. I went to a Print Three at a mall by me, and they wouldn't do it. I'll have to look for somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteDid you lose any of the print in the process? I thought of this as I was putting a heavy weight on the pages while I sewed :0)....I just don't want to lose any script :0)
ReplyDeleteHappy sewing
