Usually when I design houses I make all my fabric choices before I start sewing. This time, I was a little overeager and started sewing before I made my decision about the roof of this house, and I'm in a bit of a quandary.
So I need your help. I've numbered the possibilities, and I'd like to know which one you think would work best. The whole "vibe" for this quilt is the warm reds with cool greens and turquoises. The other fabric choices surround the house, and may not all be used.
Please let me know your thoughts in the comments.
This blue green is Option One.

This pale cream is Option Two.

This dark brown with blue flowers is Option Three.

These light brown swirls are Option Four.

These little brown boxes are Option Five.

This soft cream is Option Six.

Currently my favorites are Option Three and Option One.
If you look closely, you will see that I have covered up a couple of windows. This is deliberate, and will be a surprise for X.
(And X, I am particularly interested in your opinion!)
PS, the door -stays- blue!
Three or five
ReplyDeleteany of the dark ones. the cream ones just let the house float away.
ReplyDeletei agree with Brenda, i prefer the swirly one myself. number 4 i think it was
ReplyDelete#1 for me
ReplyDeleteI like any of the darker fabrics, but am leaning towards option 1.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, though option 1 is my personal favorite. Great blocks.
ReplyDeleteNumber 3 is my favorite, but I also like number 1.
ReplyDeleteoption 1 is best, the lighter colors don't look very roofish on this house. i'm anxious to see what is in your windows!
ReplyDeleteOption #1 but make the door a different color fabric.
ReplyDeleteI like one and three, too. :)
ReplyDeleteHand down I like option 3!
ReplyDeleteI like no 1 and 3. If I had to be pinned down to a choice I think I would go with 1. I think the print on no3 might just be bit too large
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs Gina xxx
Number 1 is my favorite
ReplyDelete1 and 5 :)
ReplyDeleteOne and three!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your choices - but Option 3 would be my first preference of the 2. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is 3 because it goes good with the blue door. It adds sparkle.
ReplyDeleteI like option #3...it's dark enough to show off the house and the fabric adds some texture and dimension. Throw all the light brown roofs out...not good.
ReplyDeleteI love option 3!
ReplyDeleteNumber One is my pick! So fun to watch your houses develop!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm! 1 & 3. TTFN ~ Marydon
ReplyDeleteMy first choice was Number 1...I do like no. 3 too...
ReplyDeleteI vote for option 3! Thinking it needs a darker roof.
ReplyDelete#1 by far.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't really like any of these choices, but one and three seem to work the best except (to me) their tonal values are too similar to the red to make an exciting contrast. I will vote for three because of the design adding more contrast. Neat house!
ReplyDeleteNumber 1 the blue/green
ReplyDeleteMy first choice is #3 and 2nd choice is #1.
ReplyDelete#3 and then #1
ReplyDeleteThe best choice for me would be 3. All the beige or brown roofs bring down the joyous red of the house in my mind's eye. It just has to be 3.
ReplyDeleteI like #1.
ReplyDeleteI like number one best.
ReplyDeleteVicky F
I like #1.
ReplyDeleteone or three!
ReplyDeleteThe darks seem to read the best, in my view..
ReplyDeleteI like number one, which I think is one you liked as well. go with your gut.
My favorite is #1, second choice is #3.
ReplyDeleteTara (not the cat)
It is number one, hand down for me! Option 3 has great potential also, but all the rest need to be put away, they contribute zero. I love that you asked everyone, that is fun, just like you!
ReplyDeleteI like option 5 the best.
ReplyDeleteI like the third option the best.
