Waves

First, let  me apologize for the size of the watermark. I'm still learning how to use the Paint tools on the new laptop. It is not fun.

ANYWAY...

I always knew that for the next Scrap Slabs Quilt I wanted to play with the background black and white side triangles. Here I ave arranged the lighter ones on the top and the darker ones on the bottom.

Yeah, how's that? Designing the background of a quilt first.  The laugh may well be on me by the time this is all said and done, but we'll see. You never know until you try and we all know I love to tinker.

I didn't like the all dark, then all light rows so I switched it up a bit. Yeah I know the color looks beige, but bear with me. It's dark in that corner of the studio at night.

This is looking good. Aside from driving me completely crazy as I try to figure out what to put where, and the left and right thing making me cuckoo, I'm liking this a lot.

This could work. We'll have to see what happens when I add the colored blocks.

I suppose if you put all of the darker ones facing one direction, it would sort of resemble one of those 3-dimensional hexagon designs.

I REALLY like that last version - on the screen here it vibrates with excitement and has a cool 3-D vibe. Keep going!

There’s more than one way to build a quilt! The 3D effect is so fun!

I don't think it needs colored blocks at all. It looks spectacular as-is!

Good challenge to make the background first. I am curious how you will decide on the foreground now.

I like what you've done so far. Looking forward to seeing where it goes as you add the colors.
