Purple Urple

I made the violet and blue violet blocks last night. These are the violet, and they are not quite as blue in real life.

This photo is an accurate representation of the color. The very top right most block in the photo above is cut from this slab, so you can see the difference.

The CAMERA makes this adjustment. It tries to balance light and dark, and as a result, sometimes the color is off. Photos taken of things farther away tend to be the most unreliable for color (especially inside in artificial light.)

I made some blue violet slabs and they hardly looked much different, which was kind of a bummer.

So I removed some blocks from the design wall (mostly the golds and greens) to make room for all the new blocks.

Then I made dinner.

While "watching" the finale of this season's Project Runway (which they made almost unwatchable by the number of commercials and previews of Project Runway Junior), I rearranged the blocks on the design wall. I made some dark green slabs, a few more blue ones and whatever else I needed as I moved them around.

Four hours after I started rearranging the blocks I had this. I'll need to look at it a bit before I commit and start sewing blocks together, (and obviously I need to add the side triangles) but so far this looks good. (Well, it's close. I don't like the placement of the golds, but I can fix those later)

I'll want to review what this looks in daylight,

 but I'll have to wait until later when the sun moves away.
