Wreath

I can't seem to stay away from Home Goods stores. Just before Thanksgiving I bought a wreath for my (hot pink) front door.

I thought it was lovely in its simplicity, but I felt it needed a bow or something, so after work today I stopped at the local dollar store to see what I could find.

What I found were purple sparkly ball ornaments, some shiny hot pink ones with glitter, some totally fake berries and silver "greens" and some small purple flowers.  Those hopped right into my basket along with some ornament hooks.  A bit more poking around and I found a shiny silver bow.  Perfect. Thirteen bucks later I was on my way home with my goodies.

Hot glue was problematic. The best thing was crochet cotton, tied to the ornaments, woven through the sticks and then tied in back. Not really easy, and the whole thing was cumbersome, but hey, I've never decorated a wreath before, so I kept muttering to myself and cutting stuff off and tying it back on again.

It's probably sixteen times over the top, but hey, that's my middle name, so what the heck. I think it's pretty, and I can't wait to see it on the hot pink front door.  I'll add a photo tomorrow once it gets light enough for us all to see.

It sure does sparkle in the sun.

Yeah, I'm sure it's WAY too over the top, but I like it. :-)

Impressive! You have a lengthy middle name, by the way. The silver berries and leaf bunches remind me of Christmas corsages worn on winter coats from days gone by. I love this, Lynne!!

Well, I liked the simplicity of the initial wreath hanging, but, as you say, if you're going to go over the top, may as well be 16 times over the top!
