Fall House Top Finish

When I bought my sofa last year, the last thing I was looking for was a dark gray one, but this charcoal sofa looks good with anything, and the Fall House Top quilt is no exception. While watching tennis last night I folded the binding over to the front and pinned it in place. Then I sewed it down.

I'll take beauty shots this weekend.

Cheryl, this is what my table looked like the night before Thanksgiving last year. Everything was ready for a big family dinner. (The quilt was only a flimsy then.)

Overnight we got about 20 inches of heavy wet snow that knocked out power to my house for three days.

Fortunately my sister had power at her house, so we simply moved the feast over there.

"Make sure you bring that quilt!!!" she told me.

One of the reasons we love quilts is the stories they tell. This quilt has a good story.

Yes, it does. And I saw it on Iris while Chris was quilting it (when I visited her house a couple weeks ago). The fabrics are wonderful!

Your quilts always have great stories. Blogging gives us the chance to share our stories and to come to know and be inspired by the stories of other quilts. Thanks for sharing yours.

I love it! You sure did capture the New England fall color palette. We tend to think yellow, orange, rusty red and brown for "fall" colors, but it is soooo much more. The purples, pinks and blues really make it sing. Of course it can change to a snow scene pretty quick....haha. Thanks for showing the table set.....perfect....love the decorations. What a story....tough to lose power just as you're preparing for a large gathering, but it looks like it didn't ruin the day and everyone looks happy to be together....nice...
I have a charcoal couch also and you're right....anything goes well with it.....except my black cat, he disappears on it at night..

The sofa is just made for quilts over the back! Any style, colour would look so good.
