Charlotte asked me a while ago why I blog. It's a long story, but mostly I do it to share what I do. Quilters are all over the world, and blogging helps me find other quilters like me, and gives me ideas and inspiration. I always knew I was an oddball, that I look at the world differently, that my work, and my quilts were different from anybody else's. Blogging gave me an opportunity to explain how I got here, to show how my worldview affects my work. How I get from point A to point B. Because most people look at my work and can't figure out how or why I did it.
It's like talking to yourself in the dark. You never know if anybody else is out there, or really listening, or if anybody even cares. Or would notice if I stopped.
But there are folks out there listening. Caring. Reading. Thinking. Experimenting. I've made my best friends through blogland, and I am not joking. Blogging has changed, and in many ways, saved my life.

You are so right, on so many levels, thank you for this post! Why we do what we do... quilting, blogging, explaining why we do what we do certainly takes the proper audience, blogging offers exactly that.

I'm always humbled by the time and effort that people put into their blogs. To me, it's a good sign that creativity is alive and well and that we humans really DO want to connect and get to know each other.
Lynne I really appreciate you taking the time to explain your process to us. Your blossom quilt was a perfect example....boy I learned a lot from that....it was good as is, but just a little bit of tweaking and its a stunner. I get a kick out of hearing what you and Millie are up to also and I'm so glad that you benefit as well. Your blog always puts a smile on my face as well. Of course now you've introduced me to another cool blogger.....love the block you sent her. It will be fun to see that quilt progress.

I read your blog - every post! It is one of my favorites! I've learned so much from you and your blog. I love "visiting" with you and Millie. You're so right - blogging is kind of like talking in the dark!
I really appreciate you showing us what you do and why you do it. You've made me more critical (in a good way) of my own work, and helped my "up my game". Please don't stop! And I agree with you - blogging has really truly changed my life and my quilting!
