Welcome!

In New England, where I live in the northeastern US, when you go to somebody's house, you go in by the side door.  The front door is used rarely, and only for special occasions.  So when you come to MY side door, this is what you see.  If you open the storm door (it becomes a screen door in the summer when the glass is removed and a screen fitted in its place, as above.)

Open the screen door, and you see my pink side door, and the Welcome banner, which, dear Meagan, is well protected from the elements.

For those of you wishing to see photographs of the shade garden, my apologies. I got sidetracked. I, um...

ah...

uh...

I didn't do it. I went out and bought the edging bricks, as I said I would do. Then I went back to the big box hardware store and bought a gas grill.

On the plus side, the steak, asparagus, red onion and potatoes I cooked on it for dinner last night were divine.

Can that storm door be painted pink also perhaps? (Not trying to find you more projects around the house, Lynne - not really! LOL)

WHY do people go through the side door not the front door? And why do houses even get built with three doors - front, back and side? Enquiring minds wanna know.

And ... a small furred critter (and her fan club) wants to know why she wasn't given any barbequed steak. It sounds like cruelty to animals to deny her some!

Gardening leads to grilling, Lynne.
It's simple science.
I approve.

Oh...and the Welcome sign looks great on the door!

A perfect door for you!! How did you get the banner to stay up? I see clips but what are they attached to?? There is always something to do and something else to change and something else that you just had a brainstorm on, etc. It never ends but isn't that just perfect? Best wishes.

Ha, happy homeowner with lots of chores.

Mum says she recommends grilled eggplant, grilled fruits like peaches, pineapples.
