The Whistler House Museum of Art in Lowell Mass is seeking original Art Quilts for an exhibit August 7 to September 14th 2013 called "What's My Line?"
The show is looking for quilts that "explore the idea of using a line both literally and figuratively - a stitched line, a line of work, a line of song or a poem, a railway line, a line on a map, lines on a face, the possibilities are endless..."
You can find more information here.
Three very important facts:
The work must be original.
The quilts cannot be larger than 72" in any dimension.
The deadline for entries is May 15, 2013
So!
I am thinking of submitting this quilt:
I remember typing this line over and over and over when I was learning to type.

Down to Business
I finally got myself some business cards. I had them made at Vistaprint, and it was easy.
The body of the card is a greyish brown. You all know how I love brown (Not!) but all the other bright colors drowned out the quilt on the left. So I opted for the subdued color.
(The photo is a bit fuzzy because the cards are glossy and I didn't use the flash on my camera.)
I was doing great until they started offering me other nifty goodies...
As if -this- was anything I could resist!!!
My biggest struggles were: I couldn't think of a good quote; whether I should add my street address or not, and should I use my home phone or my cell phone?

Chartreuse!
Chartreuse is a cool word, but a lousy description for a color. This yellow-green is often called "acid green." We just had over 20" of snow in the last couple of days, so I wanted to make something that reminded me of Spring.
I'm happy with the way this block came together.

I Am Blue!
I am having such fun making these blocks. Going through the little bins is so much fun. I remember the quilts I made with these fabrics. I don't usually place so many dark values together, and it's fun to see them here.

Pink
These are a lot of fun to make. Everything I used to make these blocks comes out of the little scrap bins. I'm sort of amazed at how much is in there. I will make 25 blocks and then make a big quilt. It will be fun to see how much I've got left in the bins afterwards.
That's actually a very humbling thought.
