This is the time of year to be thankful for your blessings. This is my son and his best friend, who grew up without a family, and calls me her "chosen mother." That's quite an honor. Her new family will celebrate Thanksgiving with the rest of my family tomorrow, and I'm quite looking forward to it.

I'm glad you can be the chosen "Mom". I'm the chosen "Dad" this year as a former student was kicked out by his parents and is currently living with us as he transitions to his own apartment. His boyfriend and him and Bert and our son and daughter will all be here. Lots of happy tears and hugs. Many blessings this year and wishing you even more.
