2U*

Snow days are fun, except for the part when you have to go outside and dig your car out from under its snow cocoon. Before I had to do that yesterday, I made a couple of "YOU"s. You can click the photo, then click again to get better detail.

*a side note, 2U is a geek term for a rack mounted server that's 2U, or two rack units tall. A "unit" is about 1-3/4" inches, so a 2U server is about 3-1/2" tall. (It's also about 19" wide, almost 30" long and can weigh up to 60 lbs.) A 1U server is commonly referred to as a "pizza box" server.

The IBM computer "Watson" is comprised of ninety servers. If you haven't heard of Watson, you will soon. You can read a terrific article about it here.

PS, My Letters From Home quilt made Bonnie's blog!

Mine is on Bonnie's blog, too! Thanks for the alert!

So the block on your orphans quilt with 4-U's ... what kind of geek reference is that? I knew there was yet another reason I put those U's together!
