Got Fox?

Peggi wondered yesterday if I could make a free pieced dog and fox for my The Quick Brown Fox quilt. I had been wondering the same thing.

I can find dogs (Tanya made some great ones in her stunning free pieced quilt about a year ago), but not foxes. Anybody got any suggestions?

I think it's a great idea.

What a fantastic idea!! I know you can do it. I can't wait to see your interpretation.

Have you ever seen the Dogz quilt by Stargazey? http://www.stargazey.com/products.php?cat=186

I made it a couple of years ago. The dogs are made very free-form and some look like foxes and others can look like beagles depending on how you construct them. One of them might work for your quilt.

Joyce did a fun fox in her henhouse here:

seems like fox is kind of cat like, with a sharp pointy face

Lynda did great dogs as well

I see that Tonya beat me to it. When I did my fox, the thing that made it look like a fox was the white under the chin and on the chest. I left the tail loose and put white on the end of it. I got lazy about making legs so he is in the loft of the henhouse. Check out April 9,2007

i don't have my book in front of me, but does A Quilter's Ark by Margaret Rolfe have a fox? or another similarly shaped animal?
