Disappearing 9-Patch Update

I added a border to the disappearing 9-patch I was working on earlier in the week.
Amazing transformation, isn't it?

**PS, the quilt shown in yesterday's post was first blogged about here. It's my Chessboard Quilt, and I made it from leftover bits of the 40 + quilted chessboards I made several years ago.

Your quilt shows how important fabric selection & placement is for these blocks. This is pretty as a picture!

It's funny how the border fabric selected for a quilt often makes it or breaks as far as pulling the whole look together or not. I've seen many really beautifully pieced tops that look nice, but aren't spectacular due to the border fabric used. Your selection was great - it turned out beautifully.

I really like thhe effect that's created here (it took me a while to figure out fabric placement for Disappearing 9-Patch, but I think I get how you did this!)
