That mess is part of our "creative process".....so don't worry about it. Mine looks like that most of the time, and clean it up when I have no more cutting room. LOL!
I really, really like bag that you made and these blocks. So much so, that I'm going to start saving selvages too. One question though...how much of the fabric should I make sure is left attached? Looks to be a couple of inches?
My name is Lynne Tyler and I live in New England in the USA. I've been sewing since 5th grade and making quilts since college. I love working with abstract shapes and color. I love strip piecing. I'm trained as an artist, and I love the graphic quality of quilts. I'd rather take the time to make something beautiful than buy something ugly. My companion is my tuxedo cat, Millie, who has her own blog at darlingmillie.blogspot.com.

Sixteen stupendous six-inch selvage squares!
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To look @ your selvage squares!
Wow, hard to believe those beautiful squares made all that mess! I think they're worth it, but I don't have to clean your studio either! :)
Love the blue :-)
LOL! You poor thing! But it sure looks like it was worth all the mess - wonderful blocks!!

I haven't made a selvage quilt so what's my excuse for my mess?
