Time-Out Tuesday

Making wonky anything makes my sewing room a mess. I get fabric strewn all over my work and ironing tables, my bins always end up opened and spread out all over the floor and my work space gets smaller and smaller. It makes me crazy.

So I have to clean it up. I don't want to feel stressed when I walk into my sewing studio.

Wimbledon has started at just the right time. I only get the Tennis Channel on the TV in my living room, so I gathered up all my scraps and piles and dumped them on my coffee table so I could fold and organize while I watched Monday's matches.Tonight I will set up my ironing board and deal with the little tiny bits.

Remember last week I said my sister asked for a stack of my house drawings to take home to color? Here they are.
What inspiration! I love them. I -know- I will make the one in the lower left corner. And I love the one in the lower right corner. And first one in the second row...

I hate it when the sewing room is too big of a mess to work in. And I'm glad to find out I'm not the only one that makes a giant mess when I'm sewing "wonky".

I think you're going to be having more fun with 'real estate'!

I just love the mess, but I love the drawings even more! Fantastic!

I make a huge mess when I do free-piecing/wonky stuff too and I've often wanted to ask other people if they have the same problem! The cats just love it, but I don't.

The house drawings are wonderful - the coloring is great.

You are going to have a large city before you are finished! Maybe you should save the drawings somehow as well.

I agree about the mess when doing that type of block, also crazy piecing for me. It is almost the only thing you can do until you clean it up to be able to do something else. AND the cleanup takes more time than making the blocks. Re-organizing is fun too though so it isn't too painful.

When I was in the middle of my wonky house development, I felt like I needed the street sweeper to come! I kept waiting for it, that loud noise at 5am...no such luck, although I did get to sleep late then.
I love that members of your family are becoming a part of your housing project.

Love your wonky house pictures. They're a great design idea.

Messy work space goes along with liberated sewing. You have to have all that just right fabric out to see it. I have deliberately stayed out of my sewing cave for a couple of days due to just that same problem. lol Hoping the cleaning fairy s would show up. no such luck at this time. Love the drawings. Have fun!

My favorite of those colored houses is the one on the bottom right. Love it! And I don't mind making a mess when I sew, but if I don't pick up after a bit, it does get stressful to walk into the sewing area.

Bottom right, top right and the one in the middle.

How big is this quilt going to be? At this rate it's going to be huge!

Those are going to be so much fun! It was pretty inspired to hand out the drawings to be colored by the children.
